Human Resources Advisor – New York – FTC 12 months

Norges Bank Investment Management is looking for an experienced, proactive and structured professional to join a dedicated and international HR team. The HR team provides services to the offices in Oslo, London, New York, Singapore and Shanghai.

As a HR Advisor you will provide support and guidance across the full range of HR services in order to enhance the capability of the organization. You will work closely with the broader global HR team to coordinate HR processes and activities at various stages of the employment relationship in support of employees and managers. The primary function of the role is the administration of benefits, staffing and employee relations.

The position is located in New York, and some travel will be required.

This will be a fixed term contract for one year. Start date September 2017

Main Responsibilities

  • Performing benefits administration including acting as first point of contact for any benefit related question or issue
  • Developing, recommending, implementing and administrating local HR plans and procedures
  • Supporting HR Business Partners in the delivery of NBIM`s global HR processes, including performance management, learning and development activities and expatriation support
  • Acting as a key advisor and partner to employees and managers
  • Ensuring compliance with federal and state employment regulations
  • Supporting staffing process; recruitment and on-boarding
  • Handling employee relations counselling
  • Co-operating effectively with colleagues, to ensure agreed implementation with delivery of HR tools and solutions

The role will report into Global HR in Oslo, and work closely with the Head of Office.

Main Qualifications:

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree with strong academic records
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a HR professional, preferably from an international organization
  • In depth knowledge of and experience with U.S.  employment laws and regulations
  • Strong understanding of compensation and benefit topics
  • Willingness to take on responsibility, with a proactive, hands on and service oriented mind-set is essential
  • Ambition to excel
  • High level of integrity
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills with a high level of proficiency in written and spoken English
